The Lone Oak Lady Buffs entered the 2024-2025 season knowing it would be a year of growth, as they worked to rebuild nearly the entire team from the previous season. Despite some early-season challenges and close losses, the team gained valuable experience and built momentum heading into district play.
The Lady Buffs caught fire in December, stringing together big wins and showing resilience against tough opponents. Over Christmas break, they faced tournament host Leonard—a team that had beaten them by 19 points earlier in the season—and this time battled to a much closer seven-point loss. That fight set the tone for the remainder of the season as the Lady Buffs navigated one of the toughest districts in the state.
They swept Chisum and Prairiland, opened the new gym with a win, and celebrated Senior Night with a victory. Grace Fort posted her first career double-double, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Kat Poppen contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
The Lady Buffs played an incredibly competitive schedule, facing 22 playoff teams, 10 first-round winners, and three teams that advanced to the regional finals. Through it all, the girls showed incredible growth and determination, and it paid off with every player earning an award this season—whether on an All-District Team or the Academic All-District Team.
