Lone Oak Unveils 2026 Football Schedule

BUFFY

Lone Oak High School | 3/4/2026

LONE OAK, Texas — Lone Oak High School has announced its 2026 varsity football schedule as the Buffaloes look to build on the momentum of back-to-back playoff appearances and 14 regular season victories over the past two seasons.

The Buffaloes will face a demanding non-district slate early in the season before beginning district play in late September. Several of Lone Oak’s non-district opponents come from larger classifications, providing an early test for a program that has continued to trend upward in recent years.

“We are excited about the challenge next year’s schedule presents,” said Lone Oak head coach Logan Turner. “Our non-district opponents will push us early and help prepare our team for district play.

Lone Oak opens the season Aug. 28 on the road at Commerce, beginning a four-game non-district stretch. The Buffaloes will host Scurry-Rosser in their home opener Sept. 4, followed by a road trip to Winnsboro on Sept. 11.

The annual Homecoming game is scheduled for Sept. 18, when Lone Oak returns home to host Mineola in the final non-district contest of the season.

District play begins Sept. 25 at Harmony, starting a six-game run that will determine the district standings. Lone Oak will host Grand Saline on Oct. 2 before traveling to Prairiland on Oct. 9. Following the district open date, the Buffaloes return home Oct. 23 to face Chisum.

The final stretch of the regular season includes a road trip to Quitman on Oct. 30 before Lone Oak closes the year Nov. 6 at home against Edgewood, the defending district champions. The matchup will also serve as Senior Night for the Buffaloes.

With the graduation of 19 seniors, this next wave of Lone Oak Buffaloes are excited to write the next chapter for Lone Oak Football and compete for a district title in 2026.
