Lone Oak Cross Country hosted the 5th Annual Bradon Lynch Memorial on Saturday, and it was a memorable day for the Buffaloes and Lady Buffs.

The Lone Oak Varsity Girls captured the team championship for the fourth consecutive year, continuing an incredible tradition at their home meet. The Varsity Boys also made history by claiming their first team championship at the Bradon Lynch Memorial.

Leading the way for the Buffaloes were Eli Haugen, Asher Brock, and Tyler Willis, who turned in strong performances on the boys' side. For the Lady Buffs, Addison Wilhite, Korah Shockley, and Tiffany Wittrock led the charge as Lone Oak continued its strong tradition at the annual event.

The Junior High teams were also in action, with both the boys and girls putting together strong performances and posting some great times. Avery Jackson was the top runner for the Junior High Buffaloes, while Brianna Kinney led the way for the Junior High Lady Buffs. The Junior High runners continue to show encouraging improvement as the season progresses.

The Bradon Lynch Memorial is a special event for the Lone Oak Cross Country program, and the opportunity to host it each year makes the day even more meaningful. The teams honored the tradition of the event with tremendous effort and determination throughout the meet.

Despite battling a warm Saturday, the Lone Oak runners continued to push themselves. Perhaps the most impressive statistic of the day was that all but two runners recorded season personal records (PRs). That kind of improvement and commitment is something the coaches and program can be extremely proud of.

With the Bradon Lynch Memorial now in the books, the Buffaloes and Lady Buffs will turn their attention to the Lions Invitational in Ennis next weekend. With just three and a half weeks remaining until the district championship, the focus now shifts toward sharpening race strategy, improving fitness, and finishing the season strong.

The championship season is approaching, and Lone Oak Cross Country is continuing to build momentum when it matters most.
