In a night filled with pride, tradition, and celebration, the Lone Oak Buffaloes gave their community more than just a win—they put on a performance that highlighted the heart of their undefeated season. With a crowd of 1,500 fans buzzing under the Friday night lights, Lone Oak defeated Tioga High School 41-22 in a thrilling homecoming game, closing out their non-district schedule with a perfect 4-0 record.

A Night of Celebration
The excitement kicked off early as Ja'Corey Williams and Kacie Rumph were crowned homecoming king and queen, setting the stage for an electric evening. But it was the Buffaloes' dominant play on the field that truly galvanized the crowd, with both the offense and defense contributing to the win in dramatic fashion.

Offensive Line Sets the Tone
The Lone Oak offense, led by running back Alex McCallum, rolled over Tioga’s defense with 423 total yards, including 322 on the ground. McCallum, who has been a workhorse all season, carried the ball 39 times for an astonishing 234 yards, powering through Tioga’s front seven with relentless effort. His 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter was one of many highlights for the star running back, whose performance would not have been possible without the outstanding work of his offensive line.

The front five—Morgan Cruces, Owen Mann, Tyson Hampton, Camden Norris, and Travis Scott—dominated the line of scrimmage from the opening whistle. The Buffaloes’ offensive linemen opened gaping holes for McCallum and kept quarterback Slayde Parnell upright, allowing the offense to stay on schedule and chew up clock.

Parnell capitalized on their protection, throwing for 101 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushing scores of his own. He got the scoring started with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Jackson Debord in the first quarter and added a pair of goal-line scores before halftime.

Defensive Standouts
On defense, the Buffaloes were just as impressive, holding Tioga to 80 rushing yards and forcing two critical turnovers. Linebacker Kallan Patterson recovered a crucial unforced fumble, halting a Tioga drive deep in Lone Oak territory. Meanwhile, defensive back Tre Hubbard had a game to remember, snagging two interceptions to stymie Tioga’s passing attack and ignite the Lone Oak sideline.

Hubbard’s defensive heroics were complemented by the Buffaloes’ relentless pressure up front, which kept Tioga’s offense from finding a rhythm. Patterson and Hubbard ensured that every Tioga mistake was met with a roar from the crowd, who fed off the team’s big defensive plays.

Special Teams Excellence
Special teams were another area where the Buffaloes excelled. Kicker Moi Perez was perfect, connecting on two field goals—one from 35 yards—and hitting all five of his extra points. Perez also added 104 kickoff yards, while Wyatt Marker had two dynamic punt returns, including a 53-yarder that set up another Buffaloes score.

Community Pride on Full Display
The homecoming game wasn’t just a win on the field—it was a win for the entire Lone Oak community. The packed stands, the homecoming festivities, and the overwhelming support from fans created a memorable night for everyone involved. As the final whistle blew and the team celebrated under the lights, it was clear that the Buffaloes’ perfect start to the season had united the town.

With their non-district schedule behind them, the Buffaloes are poised to carry this momentum into next week’s district opener in Paris against the Chisum Mustangs.
